We’re very happy to report we will be hitting the road in May on a 12 date tour around the country playing out our new album ‘The Ties That Bind’! Woooohooo!
We’re extremely excited about this new album as its been a year in the making, we’ve been playing out the material to audiences for the past year and have really seen each song (yes thats right, song!) grow organically. So click on our gigs page and see if we are coming to a town near you.
We’ll be posting up pictures, videos, competitions and more on this site and our facebook page – http://www.facebook.com/thisismawkin over the next few months too in anticipation of our biggest tour yet.
Please share the gig dates with anyone you might think enjoy us as we really want to play out to as many people as possible – without you its just an expensive rehearsal.

We’re very pleased to announce that you could make our dreams come true! That wonderful magazine Songlines puts together the Songlines Music Awards, you vote for your favourite artist/band (ahem!) and then the top 4 in each catergory are nominated, then it goes over to the editorial team to vote for the winner. It’ll be a privelage to be nominated let alone win, so if you feel we deserve it please head over to

This tune set has been going down quite well this tour, so we thought we’d make a video for you all. Andro is a traditional french dance and we found it on the internet somewhere, the second tune Lang Stayed Away is a northumbrian hornpipe and we first heard it played by Nancy Kerr & James Fagan.Hope you like it!
